The first course in the programme is basic training. On successful completion of this course, you will start the 8-month course, Officer-in-Charge of an Engineering Watch, which is the core course of the programme. Basic training consists of the following subjects:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"liwp\">\n<li>Elementary first aid<\/li>\n<li>Fire prevention and fire fighting<\/li>\n<li>Personal safety and social responsibilities d. [Maritime] survival techniques<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Items which will be issued to you on loan.<\/strong> You will be issued overalls and any standard personal gear required for personal protection during training. Once you have successfully passed basic training you will be issued a uniform.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Items to bring<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You are to cater for your personal private clothing. As you will be wearing uniform most of the time, not much civilian clothes will be necessary. The following are recommended:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"liwp\">\n<li>Shirts<\/li>\n<li>Jeans, or Chinos [no \u2018broken clothing\u2019]<\/li>\n<li>Underwear [at least 5 pairs]<\/li>\n<li>Night wear [Pajama \/ Shorts]<\/li>\n<li>Warm jacket [navy blue or black]<\/li>\n<li>Handkerchiefs<\/li>\n<li>Casual shoes<\/li>\n<li>Rubber-soled sport shoes<\/li>\n<li>Socks [at least 4 pairs of black socks included] j. Sport gear (shorts, vest, swimming suit).<\/li>\n<li>Personal Hygiene Products\n<ul>\n<li>Body Wash\/Soap<\/li>\n<li>Shampoo<\/li>\n<li>Tooth brush<\/li>\n<li>Tooth paste<\/li>\n<li>Hand\/Face towel \u2022 Bath towels [2]<\/li>\n<li>Razor \/ Shaver<\/li>\n<li>Comb<\/li>\n<li>Deodorant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bring your Kebele identity document with you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<h2><strong>General issues<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bring your own stationery (pen and notebook).<br \/>\nYou will be required to be clean-shaven during training.
